As you will be aware, the sugar tax is now with us so you’ll have to spot the drinks which are now more expensive.
The Ginger Ale is over 9% sugar and so is liable for the higher rate of tax. Pepsi Max has no sugar (despite the Max) and J2O has fruit juice which has natural sugar and is exempt. Some smaller manufacturers are exempt, despite having drinks that are liable to tax. The best thing is to get in touch with your stocktaker who will have answers to most of your questions. As an example, some Bag in Box draught colas that are taxed will have to increase by over £1 per pint to maintain the correct Gross Profit. We’re looking forward to speaking with you soon.
