As part of our never ending quest to be the best informed stocktakers we spent an afternoon with Sian, Robin and the lovely people at Ford Farm cheesemakers. They showed us their amazing factory where all kinds of delicious cheese are made. Here we are (hope you like the very attractive PPE – especially the hairnets) in their custom made cheese cave with hundreds of kilos of the finest. Looked good, tasted even better.
The Cheeses we tried were all fantastic, lots of different flavours & textures and who would think that such a successful business is hidden away in rural Dorset?
We followed that with an evening in the company of the ebullient Mike Angell, wine guru from Tolchards. He guided us through their new range of wines from around the world.
Here he is enthusing about a Spanish red. The most difficult part of the evening was pronouncing some of the Portugese & Argentinian grape varieties. Mike informed and entertained in equal measure and we’re very grateful to him for giving up the time to broaden our education. All in all a great day for everyone and we’re now up to speed on cheese and wine. What next….?
