Sadly, we have to record the passing of John Crome of the Beckets Inn, Glastonbury. John was a client and friend for over 20 years who ran a pub in the finest traditions of the grumpy landlord. He moved to Glastonbury after a long career running pubs in London and was definitely not of the new age generation, but ran a “proper boozer”. John always had a twinkle in his eye and his descriptions of life in Somerset were eye-wateringly funny. We’re thinking of Brigid and send her all our love at this difficult time. If you want to commemorate John you can do no better than to go to the Beckets and drink a pint of 6X in his memory.
