Just spent a few days in Denmark to catch up on their thriving craft beer scene and visited the home of Carlsberg which gives a comprehensive history of the company. As the sun was shining it seemed too nice to not visit a lovely bar on the lake which featured this sad camel.
Carlsberg has an archive of 24,000 bottles of beer from around the world (That’s 2000 dozen for all you stocktakers out there) It was great to see several bottles of the late lamented Eldridge Pope Thomas Hardy Ale are part of the collection. Also, Carlsberg in Denmark is all 5% unlike to 3.4% version we have and you can definitely taste the difference. They also produce a dark lager at 4.6% which is very moreish.
Everyone we met was lovely, especially our new best friends at The Taphouse in Copenhagen which has 61 draught beers and chilli beer sausages. Definitely worth a visit.
